A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE LORICK OFFICE PRODUCTS UPON THE OCCASION OF ITS EIGHTY-FIFTH ANNIVERSARY AND TO COMMEND JEANNE LORICK BRUTSCHY AND KAREN LORICK BROACH FOR THEIR ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND THEIR MANY YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE COLUMBIA COMMUNITY AND TO THE PEOPLE AND THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are pleased to recognize Lorick Office Products as the business celebrates this important milestone; and

Whereas, Lorick Office Products is a family-owned company and a certified "Woman Owned Business" run by president and vice president Jeanne Lorick Brutschy and Karen Lorick Broach; and

Whereas, Lorick Office Products first opened its doors on Labor Day 1937. The business was founded by David Clarence Lorick, Sr., with only two other employees at the time. Clarence's sons, Harry G. "Jerry" Lorick and the late Dave Lorick followed in their father's footsteps as owner-operators; and

Whereas, Lorick Office Products began serving the Columbia area from its 924 Gervais Street location before moving up the street to another Gervais Street location. In 1995, the business expanded further and moved its store-showroom and warehouse to its current location on Washington Street in the Vista; and

Whereas, Lorick Office Products today serves businesses locally, regionally, and nationwide; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate greatly appreciate the dedication of the owners and employees of Lorick Office Products to serving the people and the State of South Carolina. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate Lorick Office Products upon the occasion of its eighty-fifth anniversary and commend Jeanne Lorick Brutschy and Karen Lorick Broach for their entrepreneurship and for their many years of dedicated service to the Columbia community and to the people and the State of South Carolina.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Jeanne Lorick Brutschy and Karen Lorick Broach.
