An Act

 

amending title 20, chapter 4, article 3, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 20-841.14; amending title 20, chapter 4, article 9, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 20-1057.20; amending title 20, chapter 6, article 4, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 20-1376.11; amending title 20, chapter 6, article 5, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 20-1406.11; relating to health insurance.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1. Title 20, chapter 4, article 3, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 20-841.14, to read:

START_STATUTE20-841.14. Emergency contraception; coverage

Beginning January 1, 2026, a hospital service corporation or medical service corporation that issues subscription contracts may not impose copayment or coinsurance requirements for emergency contraception that is prescribed by a health care provider or that is issued through a standing prescription drug order authorizing the dispensing of emergency contraception.END_STATUTE

Sec. 2. Title 20, chapter 4, article 9, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 20-1057.20, to read:

START_STATUTE20-1057.20. Emergency contraception; coverage

Beginning January 1, 2026, a health care services organization that issues evidences of coverage may not impose copayment or coinsurance requirements for emergency contraception that is prescribed by a health care provider or that is issued through a standing prescription drug order authorizing the dispensing of emergency contraception.END_STATUTE

Sec. 3. Title 20, chapter 6, article 4, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 20-1376.11, to read:

START_STATUTE20-1376.11. Emergency contraception; coverage

Beginning January 1, 2026, a disability insurer that issues disability insurance policies may not impose copayment or coinsurance requirements for emergency contraception that is prescribed by a health care provider or that is issued through a standing prescription drug order authorizing the dispensing of emergency contraception.END_STATUTE

Sec. 4. Title 20, chapter 6, article 5, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 20-1406.11, to read:

START_STATUTE20-1406.11. Emergency contraception; coverage

Beginning January 1, 2026, a group disability insurer or blanket disability insurer that issues group disability polices or blanket disability policies may not impose copayment or coinsurance requirements for emergency contraception that is prescribed by a health care provider or that is issued through a standing prescription drug order authorizing the dispensing of emergency contraception.END_STATUTE
