AN ACT

 

relating to legislative subsistence payments.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Legislative subsistence payments; exception

A.  Notwithstanding section 41-1104, Arizona Revised Statutes, during the forty-ninth legislature, ninth special session, a member of the legislature shall not receive subsistence payment.

B.  This section does not prohibit the presiding officer of either house from approving travel reimbursement pursuant to section 41‑1104, Arizona Revised Statutes, when a member acts on a legislative matter during the forty-ninth legislature, ninth special session.

Sec. 2.  Emergency

This act is an emergency measure that is necessary to preserve the public peace, health or safety and is operative immediately as provided by law.
