AN ACT CONCERNING THE REIMBURSEMENT OF TOWNS FOR COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH PREKINDERGARTEN TUITION AT MAGNET SCHOOLS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to reimburse towns for the tuition costs that towns are required to pay for prekindergarten education at interdistrict magnet schools.

Statement of Purpose:

To compensate municipalities for the increasing costs of meeting the requirement that towns be responsible for the tuition of a student attending a prekindergarten program at an interdistrict magnet school and to reduce the local property tax burden on individual property owners.
