AN ACT REQUIRING PUBLIC ASSISTANCE RECIPIENTS TO VOLUNTEER.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 17b of the general statutes be amended to implement public assistance reform similar to efforts undertaken in Maine, including, but not limited to, a requirement that public assistance recipients complete volunteer service or lose public assistance after three months.
Statement of Purpose:
To require public assistance recipients to engage in volunteer service benefiting their communities.
