AN ACT CONCERNING APPLICATION CRITERIA FOR A PERMIT TO CARRY A PISTOL OR REVOLVER.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That subdivision (5) of subsection (b) of section 29-28 of the general statutes be amended to provide that no state or temporary state permit to carry a pistol or revolver be issued to an applicant who has been confined in a hospital for persons with psychiatric disabilities, as defined in section 17a-495 of the general statutes, within the preceding sixty months by order of a probate court, instead of the prior twelve months as currently provided.
Statement of Purpose:
To extend the look-back period for certain application criteria for a permit to carry a pistol or revolver.
