Summary

Tax Increment Financing ("TIF") is a public financing method that involves the re-direction of future tax revenues to an economic development project or other public project. The District has authorized the issuance of Tax Increment Financing bonds to support the redevelopment of Skyland Shopping Center. As introduced, this bill changes the base tax year for calculating sales tax and property revenues to 2016. Currently, the base tax year is 2013.
