Summary

Provides for reimbursement of portion of ad valorem tax levied on house or other residential building rendered uninhabitable due to Tropical Storm Debby or Hurricane Isaac; provides for reimbursement of state sales tax paid on purchase of mobile home to replace mobile home that experienced major damage from Tropical Storm Debby or Hurricane Isaac; requires application for reimbursement; provides application requirements; requires that property owner provide documentation; requires property appraiser to determine applicant's entitlement to reimbursement & amount; provides formula for calculating reimbursement amount; limits reimbursement amount; requires property appraisers to submit reimbursement lists to DOR by specified date; requires DOR to determine total reimbursement payments; authorizes applicants to file petitions with VABs; requires that DOR retain funds for paying claims granted by VABs; provides penalties for giving false information.
