2An act relating to enterprise zones; creating s.
3290.00729, F.S.; authorizing Charlotte County to apply
4to the Department of Economic Opportunity for
5designation of an enterprise zone; providing
6application requirements; authorizing the department
7to designate an enterprise zone in Charlotte County;
8requiring that the department establish the initial
9effective date for the enterprise zone; providing an
10effective date.
12Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
14     Section 1.  Section 290.00729, Florida Statutes, is created
15to read:
16     290.00729  Enterprise zone designation for Charlotte
17County.-Charlotte County may apply to the Department of Economic
18Opportunity for designation of one enterprise zone encompassing
19an area not to exceed 20 square miles within Charlotte County.
20The application must be submitted by December 31, 2012, and must
21comply with the requirements in s. 290.0055. Notwithstanding s.
22290.0065 limiting the total number of enterprise zones
23designated and the number of enterprise zones within a
24population category, the department may designate one enterprise
25zone under this section. The department shall establish the
26initial effective date of the enterprise zone designated under
27this section.
28     Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2012.
