    2         An act relating to state park fees; amending s.
    3         258.0145, F.S.; providing a discount on certain state
    4         park fees for persons 65 years of age or older;
    5         providing an effective date.

    7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    8  
    9         Section 1. Section 258.0145, Florida Statutes, is amended
   10  to read:
   11         258.0145 Military, law enforcement, and firefighter State
   12  park fee discounts.—The Division of Recreation and Parks shall
   13  provide the following discounts on park fees to persons who
   14  present written documentation satisfactory to the division which
   15  evidences their eligibility for the discounts:
   16         (1) Active duty members and honorably discharged veterans
   17  of the United States Armed Forces, National Guard, or reserve
   18  components thereof shall receive a 25-percent discount on annual
   19  entrance passes.
   20         (2) Honorably discharged veterans who have service
   21  connected disabilities shall receive lifetime family annual
   22  entrance passes at no charge.
   23         (3) Surviving spouses and parents of deceased members of
   24  the United States Armed Forces, National Guard, or reserve
   25  components thereof who have fallen in combat shall receive
   26  lifetime family annual entrance passes at no charge.
   27         (4) The surviving spouse and parents of a law enforcement
   28  officer, as defined in s. 943.10(1), or a firefighter, as
   29  defined in s. 633.102, who has died in the line of duty shall
   30  receive lifetime family annual entrance passes at no charge.
   31         (5) Persons who are 65 years of age or older shall receive
   32  a 25 percent discount on daily entrance fees and annual entrance
   33  passes.
   34         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2016.
