    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to insulation products; creating s.
    3         553.843, F.S.; specifying that a person who takes
    4         certain actions relating to interior building envelope
    5         insulation products without having certain testing
    6         data is subject to the Florida Deceptive and Unfair
    7         Trade Practices Act; requiring that certain testing
    8         data be provided upon request of a local building
    9         official; providing an effective date.

   11  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   12  
   13         Section 1. Section 553.843, Florida Statutes, is created to
   14  read:
   15         553.843Interior building envelope insulation products.Any
   16  person who advertises, sells, offers, provides, distributes, or
   17  markets a product as interior building envelope insulation
   18  without testing data from a commission-approved testing
   19  laboratory demonstrating compliance with the Florida Building
   20  Code is subject to the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade
   21  Practices Act under part II of chapter 501 brought by the
   22  enforcing authority as defined in s. 501.203. Testing data for
   23  interior building envelope insulation demonstrating compliance
   24  with the code must be provided upon request by the local
   25  building official.
   26         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2019.
