    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to fees; amending s. 581.084, F.S.;
    3         authorizing the Department of Agriculture and Consumer
    4         Services to require payment of an application fee for
    5         registration in the state hemp program; authorizing
    6         the department to waive registration fees by rule;
    7         requiring fee proceeds to be deposited into a
    8         specified trust fund; providing a contingent effective
    9         date.

   11  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   12  
   13         Section 1. Subsection (3) is added to section 581.084,
   14  Florida Statutes, as created by SB 1020, 2019 Regular Session,
   15  to read:
   16         581.084. Hemp production.—
   17         (3) Each application for initial registration and renewal
   18  registration for participation in the state hemp program must be
   19  accompanied by a fee to be specified by department rule, not to
   20  exceed $500 per application. The department may waive payment of
   21  the fee by rule. Fees collected pursuant to this subsection
   22  shall be deposited in the Plant Industry Trust Fund.
   23         Section 2. This act shall take effect on the same date that
   24  SB 1020 or similar legislation takes effect, if such legislation
   25  is adopted in the same legislative session or an extension
   26  thereof and becomes a law.
