A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to a non-binding referendum on gambling.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The office of elections shall cause to be printed upon the ballot for the general election of 2012 the following question as a non-binding referendum:

     "Shall gambling be permitted within the State in accordance   with law?"

The ayes and noes on the question shall be tabulated and reported by the office of elections in the same manner as provided by law for a constitutional amendment.

     SECTION 2.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
