A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to wildfire risk and insurance.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 

     SECTION 1.  The insurance commissioner shall conduct a comprehensive study on wildfire risk and insurance, including market-based approaches.  The insurance commissioner shall submit a report of its findings and recommend actions regarding the study of wildfire risk and insurance, including any proposed legislation to the legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the regular session of 2025.

     SECTION 2.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
