A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to consumer protection.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 481B, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§481B-     Retail self-service food; scales; availability.  When retail self-service food is sold by weight, the seller shall locate a scale for customer use before sale no further than one hundred feet from the self-service food being offered for sale."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
