A BILL FOR AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A CHILD CARE SITE DIRECTOR POSITION.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The purpose of this Act is to appropriate funds to establish a full-time child care site director position to oversee Ke Kula Kamali�i �o Hānaiaulu Hawaiian language immersion childcare center. Ke Kula Kamali�i �o Hānaiaulu is a child-centered learning environment at University of Hawaii windward community college with a focus on Hawaiian language and culture for young children that supports student parents pursuing a college education toward graduation.

SECTION 2. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $ or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2019-2020 and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2020-2021 for the establishment of one full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) permanent child care site director position in the University of Hawaii windward community college Ke Kula Kamali�i �o Hānaiaulu Hawaiian language immersion childcare center.

The sums appropriated shall be expended by the University of Hawaii for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2019.
