A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO TAXATION.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $1,000,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2017-2018 for the Hawaii tourism authority, working in conjunction with the Hawaii lodging and tourism association for projects to address homelessness in tourist and resort areas; provided that no funds shall be released unless matched dollar-for-dollar by the private sector.

     The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of business, economic development, and tourism for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 2.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2017.
