A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE THIRTY-FIFTH REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2019-2020:
1. To be expended by the department of education:
A. Highlands intermediate school, Oahu
Design and construction for campus-wide electrical upgrades; and ground and site improvements.

Total funding $5,500,000
B. Kanoelani elementary school, Oahu
Design and construction to expand the cafeteria; and ground and site improvements.
Design $500,000
Construction $5,000,000
Total funding $5,500,000
C. Manana elementary school, Oahu
Design and construction for campus-wide electrical upgrades; and ground and site improvements.
Design $200,000
Construction $2,000,000
Total funding $2,200,000
D. Pearl city high school, Oahu
Design and construction for campus-wide electrical upgrades; and ground and site improvements.
Design $1,000,000

E. Pearl city high school, Oahu
Design and construction to build restroom facilities at the baseball and softball fields; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances.

Design and construction to resurface the tennis courts; and ground and site improvements.

Design and construction to re-key the locks on the exterior doors campus-wide.

M. Waipahu intermediate school, Oahu
Design and construction to complete a new DREAMS building for digital media, robotics, engineering and electronics, animation, music, and science classes; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances.

N. Waipahu intermediate school, Oahu
Design for the development and improvement of the lower campus.

2. To be expended by the university of Hawaii:
A. Leeward community college, Oahu
Design and construction for fascia and sidewalk repairs.

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2019.
