A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO THE YOUTH COMMISSION.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Section 352D-11, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending its title and subsection (a) to read as follows:

     "[[]§352D-11[]]  Youth commission[.]; youth commission administrator.  (a)  There is established within the office of youth services, for administrative purposes only, a youth commission to advise the governor and legislature on the effects of legislative policies, needs, assessments, priorities, programs, and budgets concerning the youth of the State.  The youth commission shall be administered by the youth commission administrator."

     SECTION 2.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $81,416 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2019-2020 and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2020-2021 to fund one full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) permanent youth commission administrator position to administer the youth commission and for other associated administrative costs of the position.  The funding for this position shall be a fixed cost in the base budget of the department of human services.

     The sums appropriated shall be expended by the office of youth services for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2050.
