A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO HIGHER EDUCATION.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  (a)  The university of Hawaii shall establish a two-year free application day pilot project for students applying for admission for the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 academic years.  During the application period for each of the academic years, the university of Hawaii shall designate a date on which all application fees for applications to any campus of the university of Hawaii system shall be waived for prospective students who qualify for Hawaii resident tuition.

     (b)  The university of Hawaii shall provide public notice of the date of the free application day at least sixty days in advance via a statewide publication, or any other appropriate means, including but not limited to the internet.

     SECTION 2.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2050.
