A
STATEWIDE
WELCOME
CENTER
PROGRAM.
BE
IT
ENACTED
BY
THE
GENERAL
ASSEMBLY
OF
THE
STATE
OF
IOWA:
Section
1.
Section
15.271,
subsection
1,
paragraph
e,
Code
2019,
is
amended
to
read
as
follows:
e.
A
program
shall
be
established
to
plan,
acquire,
develop,
promote,
operate,
and
maintain
a
variety
of
welcome
centers
at
strategic
locations
to
meet
the
needs
of
travelers
in
the
state.
The
program
is
intended
to
be
accomplished
by
1992.
Sec.
2.
Section
15.271,
subsection
2,
unnumbered
paragraph
1,
Code
2019,
is
amended
to
read
as
follows:
The
primary
goals
of
a
statewide
program
for
welcome
centers
are
to
provide
travel-related
services
and
tourism
information
to
travelers
the
following:

paragraphs
a,
b,
and
c,
Code
2019,
are
amended
by
striking
the
paragraphs.
Sec.
4.
Section
15.272,
unnumbered
paragraph
1,
Code
2019,
is
amended
to
read
as
follows:
1.
The
state
agencies,
as
indicated
in
this
section
,
authority
shall
undertake
certain
specific
functions
to
implement
the
goals
of
a
statewide
program,
including
the
pilot
projects,
for
establish
and
administer
a
statewide
welcome
centers
center
program
.
The
authority
shall
collaborate
with
other
state
agencies
as
necessary
to
coordinate
the
operation
of
such
welcome
centers
and
to
provide
information
to
travelers.

information.
