Section
279.50,
subsection
2,
Code
2019,
is

amended
to
read
as
follows:

Each
school
board
shall
provide
age-appropriate
and

research-based
instruction
in
human
growth
and
development

including
instruction
regarding
human
sexuality,
self-esteem,
5
stress
management,
interpersonal
relationships,
domestic
6
abuse,
HPV
and
the
availability
of
a
vaccine
to
prevent
HPV,
7
and
acquired
immune
deficiency
syndrome
as
required
in
section
8
256.11
,
in
grades
one
through
twelve
.
,
including
but
not
9
limited
to
instruction
regarding
all
of
the
following:
10
a.
Human
sexuality,
inclusive
of
lesbian,
gay,
bisexual,
and
11
transgender
health
practices.

b.
Self-esteem.
13
c.
Stress
management.
14
d.
Interpersonal
relationships.
15
e.
Domestic
abuse.

f.
HPV
and
the
availability
of
a
vaccine
to
prevent
HPV.

g.
Acquired

deficiency
syndrome.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

bill
provides
that
age-appropriate
and
research-based

instruction
in
human
growth
and
development,
which
each
school

board
must
provide
to
students
enrolled
in
grades
1
through
12,

must

instruction
inclusive
of
lesbian,
gay,
bisexual,

and
transgender
health
practices.
