2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by | ||||||
5 | adding Section 194 as follows:

6 | (5 ILCS 490/194 new) | ||||||
7 | Sec. 194. Illinois Constitution Day. August 26 of each year | ||||||
8 | is designated as Illinois Constitution Day, to be observed | ||||||
9 | throughout the State as a day to commemorate August 26, 1818 as | ||||||
10 | the day Illinois ratified its first State Constitution.
