Bill Title: Amends the School Code. Provides that on or before January 1, 2023, the State Board of Education shall create a model curriculum that may be used by school districts for the teaching of the Vietnamese and Laotian American refugee experience and a model curriculum on the Cambodian genocide. Provides that the curricula must be developed in an age-appropriate manner for instruction in kindergarten through grade 12; specifies other curriculum requirements. Effective immediately.

1 AN ACT concerning education.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The School Code is amended by changing Section
534A-104 as follows:
6 (105 ILCS 5/34A-104) (from Ch. 122, par. 34A-104)
7 Sec. 34A-104. Establishment of Authority. For each school
8district organized under Article 34 there is established a body
9both corporate and and politic and a unit of local government
10to be known as the "(Name of City) School Finance Authority"
11which, in such name, shall exercise all authority vested in
12such Authority by this Article.
