| 1 | | AN ACT concerning regulation.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Barber, Cosmetology, Esthetics, Hair |
| 5 | | Braiding, and Nail Technology Act of 1985 is amended by adding |
| 6 | | Sections 2-12, 3-11, and 3-12 as follows:

| 7 | | (225 ILCS 410/2-12 new) |
| 8 | | Sec. 2-12. Licensed cosmetology teacher seeking license as |
| 9 | | a barber teacher. A licensed cosmetology teacher who submits |
| 10 | | to the Department an application for licensure as a barber |
| 11 | | teacher must meet all requirements of this Act for licensure |
| 12 | | as a barber teacher, except that an applicant who has at least |
| 13 | | 3 years of experience as a licensed cosmetology teacher shall |
| 14 | | be given credit for hours of instruction completed for his or |
| 15 | | her cosmetology teacher license in subjects that are common to |
| 16 | | both barbering and cosmetology in the supplemental barber |
| 17 | | course. The Department shall provide for the implementation of |
| 18 | | this provision by rule.
