HOUSE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
Representatives wish to commend Albert P. Carey on his
corporate leadership and community service to the State of
Illinois and congratulate him on his retirement from PepsiCo
after 35 years of service; and
WHEREAS, Serving with distinction the past four decades,
Albert Carey has held a series of crucial leadership positions,
including CEO of Frito-Lay North America in Texas, CEO of
Pepsi-Cola North American Beverages in New York, and
ultimately, as CEO of the entire PepsiCo North American
business, including Quaker Oats in Chicago; and
WHEREAS, Albert Carey is known for his skill,
entrepreneurial vision, and executional excellence, which have
demonstrated his commitment to the millions of Quaker Oats
consumers throughout the United States; and
WHEREAS, An extraordinary individual, Albert Carey has
embodied the values of teamwork and respect, showing high
regard for consumers, associations throughout the work force,
and the communities in which the company operates; he has
always committed to the highest standards of excellence and has
acted with integrity; and

WHEREAS, Albert Carey has made a valuable contribution to
society as a champion of diversity and engagement, often
leading PepsiCo's engagement with leading Latino
organizations, including the US Hispanic Leadership Institute,
UnidosUS, and the National Association of Latino Elected and
Appointed Officials (NALEO); and
WHEREAS, Albert Carey has practiced servant leadership
throughout his career, removing obstacles and creating new
opportunities for others, helping to establish PepsiCo's Ring
of Honor, which recognizes the work of front-line sales
associations, and serving as a mentor to countless PepsiCo
employees; and
WHEREAS, Albert Carey's endeavors, individually and as a
leader in PepsiCo, have helped to enhance neighborhoods
throughout the United States, including PepsiCo's partnership
with City Colleges of Chicago to provide scholarships and
training for Chicago residents to enter career paths with
PepsiCo; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
we congratulate Albert P. Carey on his retirement from PepsiCo,
commend his meritorious record of leadership, service, and

commitment to our communities, and wish him and his family
continued happiness and success; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
