| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate the John Marshall | ||||||
| 4 | Metropolitan High School ladies basketball team, the Lady | ||||||
| 5 | Commandos, on winning the 2019 Illinois High School Association | ||||||
| 6 | Class 2A State Championship; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, The Lady Commandos defeated Teutopolis High | ||||||
| 8 | School by a score of 47 to 44 at Redbird Arena in Normal on | ||||||
| 9 | February 23, 2019; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, The Lady Commandos compiled a season record of 27 | ||||||
| 11 | wins and 8 losses on their way to the championship; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, This is the tenth IHSA championship for the Lady | ||||||
| 13 | Commandos, a record that doubles the five championships each of | ||||||
| 14 | two other teams in Illinois; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, The Lady Commandos are coached by Head Coach | ||||||
| 16 | Dorothy L. Gaters, Associate Coach Kimya Murray, and assistant | ||||||
| 17 | coaches Gwen Howard and Sandra Murphy; the managers are Trevell | ||||||
| 18 | Jones, George McNeal, and Kristan Williams; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, The Lady Commandos are Shamiyah Godfrey, Jalyn | ||||||
| 20 | Jimenez, Brandi Hudson, Dashiera Butts, Dajanae James, Jayonna | ||||||
