HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Corinne C. Heggie on her
4installation as President of the Women's Bar Association of
5Illinois (WBAI); and
6 WHEREAS, The WBAI was first established in 1914 by nine
7women lawyers practicing in the Chicago Metropolitan area; it
8is one of the oldest and largest bar associations in the State
9of Illinois; and
10 WHEREAS, The WBAI serves as an influential voice in
11promoting the interests and welfare of women in the law,
12offering mentorship and networking opportunities, career
13advice, and events that promote and empower women leaders; and
14 WHEREAS, For more than a decade, Corinne Heggie has
15actively promoted the mission of the WBAI, both in the legal
16community and the community at-large; she has taken on an
17instrumental role in organizing events and increasing WBAI's
18diverse membership; and
19 WHEREAS, Corinne Heggie's professional accomplishments in
20the field of consumer financial law position her to provide
21exemplary leadership to the next generation of women lawyers;

1she was recently selected as an Illinois Super Lawyer and was
2previously designated an Illinois Rising Star; at the national
3level, Best Lawyers named her a Woman of Influence in the legal
4profession; and
5 WHEREAS, In addition to her outstanding professional
6contributions, Corinne Heggie is active in her community,
7serving as a member of the Lyon School/Pleasant Ridge PTA and
8the Women's Club of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish,
9volunteering in scouting and youth sports, and supporting women
10and families in crisis; and
11 WHEREAS, Driven by a dedication to uplifting and
12encouraging women in the law as they forge their own career
13paths and lives, Corinne Heggie is a true leader in the fight
14for greater equality and justice; therefore, be it
15 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
16HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
17we congratulate Corinne C. Heggie on her installation as
18President of the Women's Bar Association of Illinois and we
19wish her all the best in this new position; and be it further
20 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to Corinne Heggie as a symbol of our respect and
22esteem.
