2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Keith | ||||||
4 | Tate of Chicago, who passed away on December 17, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Keith Tate was the oldest of three children born | ||||||
6 | to the union of Elwin L. Tate and Ola M. Dixon; he was raised on | ||||||
7 | the South Side of Chicago in the historic Chatham neighborhood; | ||||||
8 | and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Keith Tate graduated from St. Dorothy School and | ||||||
10 | Hales Franciscan High School; he received his Bachelor of | ||||||
11 | Science in Business and Administration, with a concentration in | ||||||
12 | Accounting, from Chicago State University; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Keith Tate was actively involved in his community, | ||||||
14 | where he served as President of the Chatham-Avalon Community | ||||||
15 | Council for many years and as President of the Hales Franciscan | ||||||
16 | Alumni Association; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Keith Tate was a devoted husband of more than 40 | ||||||
18 | years to his wife Shirley and a devoted father to their two | ||||||
19 | sons, Marcus and Rawling; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Keith Tate had a full career, working for multiple |

1 | health care groups and hospitals before retiring from the | ||||||
2 | University of Chicago after 25 years of employment; he will | ||||||
3 | forever be remembered for his love of family, friends, and | ||||||
4 | service to his community; therefore, be it

5 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
6 | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
7 | we mourn the passing of Keith Tate and extend our sincere | ||||||
8 | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
9 | him; and be it further
| ||||||
10 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
11 | presented to the family of Keith Tate as an expression of our | ||||||
12 | deepest sympathy.
