| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Elementary School | ||||||
| 4 | District 159 on the occasion of its 150th anniversary; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, The administration center for District 159 is | ||||||
| 6 | located in Matteson on the site of the original two-room Sieden | ||||||
| 7 | Prairie schoolhouse, originally built in 1869; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, District 159, located in South Suburban Cook | ||||||
| 9 | County, serves students that reside in the 38th Legislative | ||||||
| 10 | District; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, The mission of District 159 is to educate, | ||||||
| 12 | empower, and inspire the whole child; its vision is to | ||||||
| 13 | establish a shared culture that fosters a student-centered | ||||||
| 14 | approach to learning and personal development using the best | ||||||
| 15 | practices and educational resources; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, District 159 believes in innovative educational | ||||||
| 17 | opportunities that set the foundation for preparing its | ||||||
| 18 | students to be life-long learners who are college and career | ||||||
| 19 | ready; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, District 159 believes in creating an inclusive | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | educational environment that encourages the participation of | ||||||
| 2 | every stakeholder; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 3 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 4 | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 5 | we congratulate Elementary School District 159 on its 150th | ||||||
| 6 | anniversary, and we wish them many more wonderful years; and be | ||||||
| 7 | it further

| 8 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 9 | presented to District 159 as a symbol of our respect and | ||||||
