HOUSE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
Representatives wish to congratulate Larry R. Rogers Jr. on his
installation as the 67th President of the Illinois Trial
Lawyers Association (ITLA) on June 5, 2020; and
WHEREAS, Larry Rogers is a trial lawyer with over 25 years
of experience; he focuses his practice on litigating cases for
victims who have sustained catastrophic injuries or death as a
result of negligence and corporate wrongdoing; he has
represented clients in medical malpractice, trucking, product
liability, and civil rights cases; and
WHEREAS, Larry Rogers has been a member of the Illinois
Trial Lawyers Association since 1993; he has been a member of
the Board of Managers and has served on ITLA's Executive
Committee; and
WHEREAS, Larry Rogers has served as president of the Cook
County Bar Association (CCBA), the oldest association of
African American attorneys in the country, and remains active
as a board member; he is also actively involved with the
American Association for Justice and the Illinois State Bar
Association; he was invited to become a member of the Inner
Circle of Advocates, an invitation-only group of 100 trial

lawyers from across the country; and
WHEREAS, Larry Rogers has been featured in a number of
media forums, including Good Morning America, NBC Chicago, the
Chicago Sun-Times, the Chicago Tribune, and Crain's Chicago
Business, where he was recognized as one of the top trial
lawyers of his generation; he has been recognized as an
Illinois Super Lawyer since 2005 and has been listed in Leading
Lawyers Magazine top 100 lawyers; and
WHEREAS, Larry Rogers received his bachelor's degree from
the University of California, Davis in 1990; he received his
law degree in January of 1994 from the Chicago-Kent College of
Law at the Illinois Institute of Technology; he was admitted to
the Illinois Bar on May 5, 1994 and joined the firm now known
as Power Rogers, LLP; and
WHEREAS, Larry Rogers is married to Ralonda; they have four
children, Dominique, Erin, Sydney, and Jordan; he enjoys
spending time with his family, vacationing, boating, and bike
riding; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
we congratulate Larry R. Rogers Jr. on his installation as the
67th President of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
