| 2 | WHEREAS, National Apprenticeship Week celebrates the | ||||||
| 3 | awareness
of the vital role apprenticeships provide in creating | ||||||
| 4 | a qualified and highly-skilled workforce in
diverse industries | ||||||
| 5 | in Illinois and across the nation; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, The advancement and well-being of the United | ||||||
| 7 | States depends upon the
continued development of skilled | ||||||
| 8 | workers in their chosen fields; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, With the increase in unemployment, | ||||||
| 10 | apprenticeships can aid in making an individual more marketable | ||||||
| 11 | and career-ready in an uncertain world; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Robust apprenticeship programs provide tangible
| ||||||
| 13 | value to both job creators and apprentices, with the potential | ||||||
| 14 | to increase productivity, improve
diversity and inclusion, and | ||||||
| 15 | reduce recruitment and training costs while providing a pathway | ||||||
| 16 | to
prosperous careers for job seekers; and

| 17 | WHEREAS, In 2020, National Apprenticeship Week takes place | ||||||
| 18 | November 8 through 14; therefore, be it

| 19 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
