Bill Title: Creates the Inter-Agency Report on Decarbonization and Economic Opportunities Act. Requires the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, the Illinois Commerce Commission, the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, and the Illinois Power Agency to work jointly to design a broad-based policy approach, including specific programs, to decarbonize Illinois' electric sector (including energy production and consumption) in a just and equitable way that puts our State on track to phase out polluting power plants by 2030 and create new economic opportunities across the State. Effective immediately.

1 AN ACT concerning regulation.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the
5Inter-Agency Report on Decarbonization and Economic
6Opportunities Act.
7 Section 5. Inter-agency report on decarbonization and
8economic opportunities. The Department of Commerce and
9Economic Opportunity, the Illinois Commerce Commission, the
10Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, and the Illinois
11Power Agency shall work jointly to design a broad-based policy
12approach, including specific programs, to decarbonize
13Illinois' electric sector (including energy production and
14consumption) in a just and equitable way that puts our State on
15track to phase out polluting power plants by 2030 and create
16new economic opportunities across the State.
17 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
18becoming law.
