Bill Title: Amends the Environmental Protection Act. Provides that a pesticide applicator shall notify a beekeeper if the pesticide is applied within 3 miles of the beekeeper's colony registered with the Department of Agriculture under the Bees and Apiaries Act. Effective January 1, 2021.

2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | Section 5. The Environmental Protection Act is amended by | |||||||||||||||||||
5 | adding Section 11.2 as follows:

6 | (415 ILCS 5/11.2 new) | |||||||||||||||||||
7 | Sec. 11.2. Pesticide applicators; beekeepers. A pesticide | |||||||||||||||||||
8 | applicator shall notify a beekeeper, as that term is defined | |||||||||||||||||||
9 | under Section 1a of the Bees and Apiaries Act, if the pesticide | |||||||||||||||||||
10 | is applied within 3 miles of the beekeeper's colony registered | |||||||||||||||||||
11 | with the Department of Agriculture under the Bees and Apiaries | |||||||||||||||||||
12 | Act.
