| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Christopher "Chris" Kanis, who passed | ||||||
| 4 | away on March 21, 2013; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Christopher Kanis served as a Champaign County | ||||||
| 6 | assistant state's attorney for 8 years; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Prior to his service as assistant state's | ||||||
| 8 | attorney, Christopher Kanis had worked at various law firms | ||||||
| 9 | doing civil work and had clerked for the Illinois Supreme | ||||||
| 10 | Court; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Christopher Kanis is survived by his loving wife | ||||||
| 12 | of 9 years, Laura Steigmann Kanis; his parents, Michael Kanis | ||||||
| 13 | and Michelle Hudson; his sister, Kathleen Williams (Luke); his | ||||||
| 14 | nephews, King, Patrick, and Matthew; his niece, Isabel; and his | ||||||
| 15 | mother-in-law and father-in-law, Robert and Sherry Steigmann; | ||||||
| 16 | therefore, be it

| 17 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 18 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
| 19 | his family and friends, the passing of Christopher "Chris" | ||||||
| 20 | Kanis; and be it further
