SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Mary Lee (Warnecke) Barnett, who passed
away on January 5, 2019; and
WHEREAS, Mary Barnett was born to Clarence and Elizabeth
Warnecke on May 16, 1942; she graduated from Waukegan High
School in 1960; and
WHEREAS, Mary Barnett worked many different jobs, but she
took great pride in her secretarial work; she was very proud of
and enjoyed her time at SEDOL; and
WHEREAS, Mary Barnett was an active member of St. Anastasia
Church, where she enjoyed singing and was a member of the
choir; and
WHEREAS, Mary Barnett was preceded in death by her husband,
Charles; her parents; her brothers, Robert and James Warnecke;
and her daughter, Jennifer Mitchell; and
WHEREAS, Mary Barnett is survived by her daughters, Carolyn
(Jay) Picard, Barbi Dodge, Chris Frantal, and Lori (Jim)
Liebert; her eight grandchildren; her nine
great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Judy Warnecke; and her

many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Mary Lee (Warnecke) Barnett and extend our sincere condolences
to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Mary Barnett as an expression of our
deepest sympathy.
