2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Ann E. Stapleton, who passed away on | ||||||
4 | December 31, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Ann Stapleton was born in Waukegan to Joseph and | ||||||
6 | Margaret Selzer on January 23, 1936; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Ann Stapleton worked for Ammco Tools in North | ||||||
8 | Chicago for 32 years as an inspector and recording secretary; | ||||||
9 | after retirement, she owned The Cottage Lounge in Waukegan; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Ann Stapleton was a lifetime member of American | ||||||
11 | Legion Post 281 in Waukegan and VFW Post 7448 Ladies Auxiliary | ||||||
12 | in Winthrop Harbor; she enjoyed doing volunteer work with the | ||||||
13 | Salvation Army and was known by many as "The Candy Grandma"; | ||||||
14 | and

15 | WHEREAS, Ann Stapleton was preceded in death by her | ||||||
16 | husband, Fred Stapleton; her parents; her siblings, Joseph Jr., | ||||||
17 | Pete, Richard, Gertrude, and Agnes; and her daughter, Jinx Ann | ||||||
18 | Moore; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Ann Stapleton is survived by her daughters, | ||||||
20 | Frances and Christy Fiesel; her grandchildren, Charles (Angie) |

1 | and Robert Moore; her great-grandchildren, Caitlyn, Colton, | ||||||
2 | and Megan; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| ||||||
3 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
4 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
5 | Ann E. Stapleton and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
6 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
7 | further
| ||||||
8 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
9 | presented to the family of Ann Stapleton as an expression of | ||||||
10 | our deepest sympathy.
