SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ann E. Stapleton, who passed away on
4December 31, 2018; and
5 WHEREAS, Ann Stapleton was born in Waukegan to Joseph and
6Margaret Selzer on January 23, 1936; and
7 WHEREAS, Ann Stapleton worked for Ammco Tools in North
8Chicago for 32 years as an inspector and recording secretary;
9after retirement, she owned The Cottage Lounge in Waukegan; and
10 WHEREAS, Ann Stapleton was a lifetime member of American
11Legion Post 281 in Waukegan and VFW Post 7448 Ladies Auxiliary
12in Winthrop Harbor; she enjoyed doing volunteer work with the
13Salvation Army and was known by many as "The Candy Grandma";
14and
15 WHEREAS, Ann Stapleton was preceded in death by her
16husband, Fred Stapleton; her parents; her siblings, Joseph Jr.,
17Pete, Richard, Gertrude, and Agnes; and her daughter, Jinx Ann
18Moore; and
19 WHEREAS, Ann Stapleton is survived by her daughters,
20Frances and Christy Fiesel; her grandchildren, Charles (Angie)

1and Robert Moore; her great-grandchildren, Caitlyn, Colton,
2and Megan; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
3 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Ann E. Stapleton and extend our sincere condolences to her
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
7further
8 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Ann Stapleton as an expression of
10our deepest sympathy.
