SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dorothy M. Davis, who passed away on May
416, 2019; and
5 WHEREAS, Dorothy Davis was born in Chicago to Thomas and
6Mary (Sheridan) Cassidy; she attended Mercy High School and
7graduated from the Little Company of Mary Hospital School of
8Nursing; and
9 WHEREAS, Dorothy Davis worked on the pediatric nursing
10staff at St. Joseph Hospital; and
11 WHEREAS, Dorothy Davis had a passion for helping others;
12she was devoted to her family, her patients, and her faith; and
13 WHEREAS, Dorothy Davis was preceded in death by her husband
14of 59 years, John L. Davis; her parents; and her siblings,
15Thomas Cassidy and JoAnn (Cassidy) Cooney; and
16 WHEREAS, Dorothy Davis is survived by her children, John T.
17Davis, Madonna (Mike) Gale, Gerard (Crystal) Davis, Kathleen
18(Len) Capristo, and Dennis (Claudia) Davis; her grandchildren,
19Michael (Martha) Gale, Andrew (Allison) Davis, Patrick
20(Camille) Gale, Nicholas (Sara) Davis, Gabrielle Davis, Ryne

1Davis, Sheridan Davis, and Tyler Capristo; her
2great-grandchildren, Jack Gale, Luke Gale, Robert Gale, and

6 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Dorothy M. Davis and extend our sincere condolences to her
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
10further
11 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Dorothy Davis as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
