Bill Title: Revised uniform athlete agents act. Makes the following changes to the statute concerning athlete agents to reflect changes made in the Revised Uniform Athlete Agents Act: (1) Amends the definition of "athlete agent". (2) Defines the term "interscholastic sport" and specifies that for purposes of the statute, a "student athlete" includes an individual who engages in an interscholastic sport. (Current law provides that a student athlete includes only individuals engaging in intercollegiate sports.) (3) Requires an applicant for registration as an athlete agent to provide on the applicant's application specified information concerning any means of communicating electronically with the applicant. (4) Recognizes the rights of parents or guardians of a student athlete regarding entering into a contract with an athlete agent, when the student athlete is a minor. (5) Requires an applicant for registration as an athlete agent to provide certain additional information. (6) Requires additional information to be included in an agency contract. (7) Provides for additional requirements when communicating the existence of an agency contract to an educational institution. (8) Allows athlete agents certified in a particular sport by a national association that promotes or regulates intercollegiate athletics, and establishes eligibility standards for participation by a student athlete in the sport, to cover limited expenses of a prospective or enrolled student athlete and the student athlete's family under certain circumstances. (9) Expands criminal liability for athlete agents if the athlete agent encourages an individual to take or assist in taking an unlawful action.
