1.1A Senate resolution
1.2commending Rolf Carlsen for over 30 years of dedicated service to the
1.3education profession.
1.4WHEREAS, a member of the education profession must believe in the ability of all students
1.5to learn; and
1.6WHEREAS, a caring, enthusiastic, and skilled leader is a major factor in establishing a good
1.7educational climate; and
1.8WHEREAS, a principal must be a model of good deportment and moral character, for
1.9students learn by example; and
1.10WHEREAS, besides imparting knowledge, educators are called upon to motivate their
1.11students to learn and to develop their communication and social skills; and
1.12WHEREAS, Rolf Carlsen is the head principal at Oxbow Creek Elementary School and is
1.13retiring after many years of service; and
1.14WHEREAS, each morning, Rolf can be seen greeting students and parents with his signature
1.15wave and a smile in the school's main hallway and is constantly visible throughout the school
1.16celebrating milestones, reading to students, hosting "Lunch with the Principal," and celebrating
1.17achievements in video announcements; and
1.18WHEREAS, Rolf is a highly respected member of the education community, working
1.19tirelessly to ensure that all members of the community feel welcome at Oxbow Creek Elementary
1.20School; and
1.21WHEREAS, a community celebration will take place Thursday, May 21, 2019, at 6:00 p.m.
1.22NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.23commends Rolf Carlsen for his many years of dedication and commitment.
1.24BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare a
1.25copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the Chair of the
1.26Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Rolf Carlsen.
