A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE PHENOMENAL APPROACH TO TEACHING AND STUDENT ENGAGEMENT OF MRS. LORI DAVIS MCCALMON AND COMMENDING HER EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATIONAL INSTRUCTION UPON HAVING EARNED A PERFECT 300 QDI FOR STUDENT SUCCESS ON THE ALGEBRA MCT.

     WHEREAS, seventh-year Burnsville Middle School instructor, Lori Davis McCalmon, has demonstrated excellence in educational instruction upon having earned a perfect 300 quality distribution index (QDI) for student success on the Algebra Mississippi Curriculum Test; and

     WHEREAS, a teacher who consistently demonstrates passion, eagerness and dedication to her students, Mrs. McCalmon teaches seventh grade math, pre-algebra and algebra I at Burnsville Middle School; and

     WHEREAS, ever the driven individual, Mrs. McCalmon was the only teacher in the Tishomingo County School District to achieve the exceptional honor of a perfect QDI; and

     WHEREAS, Mrs. McCalmon is supported in all her endeavors by her loving husband, Mike McCalmon; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend outstanding individuals such as Mrs. McCalmon, whose outstanding rapport with her fellow colleagues and more importantly with her students, translates into an impassioned zeal for transforming, enriching and positively molding the lives of those under her tutelage and instruction, past, present and future:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend the phenomenal approach to teaching and student engagement of Mrs. Lori Davis McCalmon and commend her excellence in educational instruction upon having earned a perfect 300 quality distribution index score for student success on the Algebra Mississippi Curriculum Test, and extend best wishes as she continues to inspire greatness in the lives of youth through her superior and heralded teaching skills.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mrs. McCalmon, the Tishomingo County Public School District and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
