A RESOLUTION COMMENDING BISHOP RONNIE C. CRUDUP, SR., FOR HIS TWENTY-SIX YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE, SPIRITUAL LEADERSHIP AND ECCLESIASTICAL EXCELLENCE AS PASTOR OF NEW HORIZON CHURCH INTERNATIONAL, HIS THIRTY-FIVE YEARS IN GOSPEL MINISTRY AND CONGRATULATING HIM ON THE OCCASION OF HIS 60TH BIRTHDAY. 

     WHEREAS, Bishop Ronnie C. Crudup serves as the spiritual leader of New Horizon Church International, and is also a community activist, visionary and international philanthropist; and

     WHEREAS, many have been called, but very few have been divinely chosen to boldly proclaim the word of God and to lead the Christian fold into greener pastures of spiritual enlightenment as has Bishop Ronnie C. Crudup, Sr., who was raised in the Georgetown Community of Jackson, Mississippi; and

     WHEREAS, he is a graduate of Jackson State University, where he earned a bachelor of science degree and a graduate of the Reformed Theological Seminary, where he received the master's of divinity degree; and

     WHEREAS, Bishop Crudup serves as the Regional Bishop for the Mid-South Dioceses of the Fellowship of International Churches and ascribed as being an exceptional human being who truly cherishes the value of servitude; and

     WHEREAS, on the 28th day of June 2013, Bishop Crudup will be honored for his 35th year in gospel ministry, his 26th year of serving as founder and senior pastor of New Horizon Church International, and his 60th birthday; and

     WHEREAS, he is highly regarded as a compassionate pastor, prolific Bible teacher, dynamic preacher, and visionary leader who proclaims a message of consecration and empowerment to the masses and gives practical steps on how to fulfill the divine calling and destiny in Jesus Christ; and

     WHEREAS, he is the founder and president of New Horizon Ministries, Inc., the We Make It Better Foundation, and Ekklesia School of Ministry and Theology; and

     WHEREAS, he is cofounder and CEO of the Mississippi Faith-Based Coalition for Community Renewal, that serves as a private, nonprofit, faith-based, social service ministry organized to provide Bible-based leadership and services that address a variety of concerns faced by individuals and institutions in the Metro Jackson area; and

     WHEREAS, he serves as the Chairman of the Jackson Redevelopment Authority and on numerous local boards, community and national development organizations, such as the 100 Concerned Clergy of Jackson, Transformation Jackson, Central Mississippi Medical Center Board, Working Together Jackson, The Hope/Enterprise Corporation, and Telos Group, just to name a few; and

     WHEREAS, as evidence of his dedication to the community as well as his church, he has received numerous accolades, recognitions and awards for his numerous contributions to the local, regional, national and worldwide communities; and

     WHEREAS, he is known to be a man of great faith who "counts it all joy!" and a man who possesses a full arsenal of ministry, philanthropic and activist assets to successfully engage in the battle of rebuilding various communities; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize such an outstanding Godly leader as Bishop Ronnie Crudup, who has dedicated his long and distinguished career to bringing many souls to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do honor the legacy of Bishop Ronnie C. Crudup, Sr., and commend him for his 26 years of dedicated service, spiritual leadership and ecclesiastical excellence as pastor of New Horizon Church International, his 35 years in gospel ministry and congratulate him on the occasion of his 60th birthday.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Bishop Crudup and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
