A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT to allow the cities of Cornelius, Davidson, and huntersville to enforce motor VEHICLE laws applicable to public streets and highways on public vehicular areas in subdivisions with streets that have not yet been accepted by the city for maintenance as public streets or highways.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of Chapter 20 of the General Statutes, with regard to the enforcement of Motor Vehicle laws on public vehicular areas, the Cities of Cornelius, Davidson, and Huntersville, in Mecklenburg County, may enforce the provisions of Chapter 20 of the General Statutes applying to public streets and highways on streets classified as public vehicular areas within subdivisions which have not yet been dedicated to, or accepted by, the city for maintenance as a public street or highway.
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective December 1, 2010, and applies to offenses committed on or after that date.
