HOUSE BILL 1391
AN ACT relative to blood drawn from patients with hemochromatosis.

This bill requires licensed health care facilities which accept blood donations to seek a waiver from the federal Food and Drug Administration to enable the facility to use blood drawn from certain patients.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Fourteen
AN ACT relative to blood drawn from patients with hemochromatosis.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Section; Facilities Accepting Blood Donations. Amend RSA 151 by inserting after section 12-b the following new section:
151:12-c Facilities Accepting Blood Donations Required to Seek Waiver. Facilities licensed pursuant to this chapter which accept blood donations shall seek a waiver from the federal Food and Drug Administration permitting them to use blood drawn from hemochromatosis patients.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2015.
