STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Nineteen

 

AN ACT proclaiming an annual observance of Juneteenth.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  New Section; Juneteenth Proclamation.  Amend RSA 4 by inserting after section 13-y the following new section:

14:13-z  Juneteenth Proclamation.  The governor shall annually issue a proclamation calling for the proper observance of June 19 as Juneteenth  and shall call on the citizens of New Hampshire to observe the day with appropriate ceremonies and activities commemorating the abolition of slavery.

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
