AN ACT relative to transportation projects.

ANALYSIS

 

This bill requires the department of transportation to study a sound barrier program.  The bill also permits the commissioner of transportation to acquire private or public property to mitigate historical effects of transportation projects.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Nineteen

 

AN ACT relative to transportation projects.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  Department of Transportation.  The department shall, in accordance with its noise mitigation policy, study a type 2 sound barrier program as part of the ten year transportation improvement plan.

2  Layout of State Highways; Acquisition of Property; Historical Effects.  Amend RSA 230:13, II(b) to read as follows:

(b)  Construct, improve, and maintain transportation projects as directed by law and provide mitigation for existing or potential environmental and historical effects of transportation projects.

3  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
