An Act concerning school graduation exercises in July ¹and August of¹ 2020.

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1.    ³a.³  Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, individuals attending school-sponsored graduation exercises between July 1, 2020 and ¹[July] August¹ 31, 2020, who have graduated from the school ²or were employed by the school² in the immediately preceding school year shall, for the purposes of ³[any]³ insurance coverages afforded the school's registered and enrolled student population beginning July 1, 2020 ²or for the purposes of ³[any]³ insurance coverages afforded the school's employees beginning July 1, 2020², be considered included in the enrolled and registered student population ²or be considered as a school employee, as applicable,² while attending the graduation exercises.

      ³b.   As used in this section:

     "Insurance" means, in the case of a student, student accident insurance and general liability insurance, and in the case of an employee, general liability insurance; and

     "School" means a school district or charter school high school.³

 

     2.    This act shall take effect immediately.
