     Permits New Jersey Historical Commission to develop manual for counties and municipalities to use to plan celebration of 250th Anniversary of ratification of Declaration of Independence.

An Act permitting the New Jersey Historical Commission to develop a manual for counties and municipalities to use to plan to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the ratification of the Declaration of Independence, and supplementing Title 18A of the New Jersey Statutes.

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1.    a.  The New Jersey Historical Commission may develop a manual for counties and municipalities in this State to use to plan, develop, and participate in activities celebrating the 250th anniversary of the ratification of the United States Declaration of Independence, which will occur on July 4, 2026.  If the manual is developed, it shall be in such form as the commission deems appropriate for its dissemination to every county and municipality in this State.

     b.    The commission may employ such personnel as may be necessary to implement the provisions of this act and as may be within the limit of funds available for this purpose. 

 

     2.    This act shall take effect immediately.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

     Under this bill, the New Jersey Historical Commission may develop a manual for counties and municipalities in this State to use to plan, develop, and participate in activities celebrating the 250th anniversary of the ratification of the United States Declaration of Independence, which will occur on July 4, 2026.  If the manual is developed, it should be in such form as the commission deems appropriate for its dissemination to every county and municipality in this State.

     The bill authorizes the commission to employ such personnel as may be necessary to implement the provisions of the bill and as may be within the limit of funds available for this purpose.
