SYNOPSIS
Prohibits passage or enactment of legislation with effective or operative date that is contingent upon passage or enactment of other legislation.

An Act concerning the passage and enactment of legislation and supplementing chapter 2 of Title 1 of the Revised Statutes
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. The Legislature shall not pass, and the Governor shall not approve or sign, any bill, joint resolution, or concurrent resolution, as applicable, the effective date or operative date of which is contingent upon the effective date, operative date, approval, signing, passage, or enactment of a separate bill, joint resolution, or concurrent resolution.
2. This act shall take effect immediately.
STATEMENT
This bill prohibits the Legislature from passing, and the Governor from approving or signing, any legislation that has an effective date or operative date that is contingent upon the effective date, operative date, approval, signing, passage, or enactment of other legislation.
