An Act concerning maternal mental health 1[and supplementing Title 26 and Title 30 of the Revised Statutes]1.

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1.    a.   The Department of Health shall identify and take appropriate steps to secure federal sources of funding to support maternal mental health in the State, including, but not limited to, the grant available pursuant to section 10005 of the federal "21st Century Cures Act," Pub. L. 114-255, 42 U.S.C. s.247b-13a.

     b.    No later than 1[January 1, 2020] September 1, 20211, the department shall report to the 2[Legislature, pursuant to section 2 of P.L.1991, c.164 (C.52:14-19.1)] Grants Management Office established in the Office of the Treasury or in such other State agency or office as may be designated by the Governor2, concerning its efforts to secure and utilize federal sources of funding to support maternal mental health pursuant to subsection a. of this section.  2The information submitted pursuant to this section shall be included within the report issued by the Grants Management Office to the Legislature prior to the expiration date of this act, P.L.    , c.    (C.        ) (pending before the Legislature as this bill).2

 

     2.    a.  The Department of Human Services shall identify and take appropriate steps to secure federal sources of funding to support maternal mental health in the State.

     b.    No later than 1[January 1, 2020] September 1, 20211, the department shall report to the 2[Legislature, pursuant to section 2 of P.L.1991, c.164 (C.52:14-19.1),] Grants Management Office established in the Office of the Treasury or in such other State agency or office as may be designated by the Governor2 concerning its efforts to secure and utilize federal sources of funding to support maternal mental health pursuant to subsection a. of this section.  2The information submitted pursuant to this section shall be included within the report issued by the Grants Management Office to the Legislature prior to the expiration date of this act, P.L.    , c.    (C.        ) (pending before the Legislature as this bill).2

      3.   This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire on January 1, 1[2023] 20241.
